Object of the Bill
The object of the Bill is to consolidate and reform the law relating to the management of Fisheries, fisheries products and aquaculture. The current Fisheries Act, Cap. I 97 emanates from the l95l Fisheries Ordinance which was later re-enacted as the Fish and Crocodile Act in 1964. During the Law Revision of 2000, the laws of Uganda were reorganised and the Fish and Crocodile Act bccame the Fish Act Cap. 197
