Object of the Bill

The object of the Bill is to amend the trade (Licensing) Act, to streamline the procedures for the licensing of trade and make them consistent with the Government policy on trade liberalization and the obligations of Uganda under the East African Community Common Market Protocol on free trade, free movement of goods and services and lifting of trade barriers; to clarify the business that are required to obtain licencees; to change the validity of a trading licence and for related matters.
