Object of the Bill

The object of this Bill is to reform the law to provide for the Uganda National Examinations Board to regulate and oversee the national examinations; and to harmonise the Uganda National Examinations Board Act with other existing government laws and policies, to define the powers and functions of the Uganda National Examinations Board with regard to preparation, organisation and administration of national examinations: to improve the standards and quality of national examinations conducted by the Examinations Board and to address new and emerging challenges affecting the administration and management of national examinations.

The Bill is now an Act of Parliament. When a Bill has completed all its parliamentary stages on the floor of Parliament, it must have President Assent before becoming an Act of Parliament (law). President Assent is the State agreement to make the Bill into an Act and it is a formality.
